fishy

So, I think one of my fish is a male. He starts to get a beard :). I tried to make a picture of his new beard but it is not that easy unfortunally. I guess his beard can be seen a little on these pictures. I'll make new ones when the beard is bigger.

 And my lobster also LOVES the cucumber!

The dog who saved a boy on the highway

This is not something I often do but this story about this very courages dog has touched my heart, therefor I just need to share it. No pictures in this blogpost, sorry!

This story is about a dog and a little 2 year old boy named Randy. It is taken from the book: A diet for a new America. I hope you like it like I did.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Little Randy wandered away from home one day. When his parents noticed his absence and couldn't find him anywhere, they called the police. But even a two-hour police search did not locate young Randy. The parents were becoming extremely alarmed, and when they noticed that the boy's dog, a St. Bernard named Ringo, was also missing, they found themselfs praying that the big dog was with their little son, and was somehow protecting him.
Meanwhile, a man named Harley Jones had to stop his car for a traffic jam on a highway about three quarters of a mile from Randy's home. Getting out of his car, he asked other stopped motorists if they knew what was the problem. They told him the trouble was "caused by a mad dog in the road ahead." Curious, Jones walked toward the head of the line of stopped cars to see for himself what was going on. What he saw wa a St. Bernard, stationed resolutely in the center of the highway, barking wildly, and letting no car move by in either direction. Jones saw the dog was protecting a little boy who was merrily playing the the center of the heavily-travelled thoroughfare. The dog would stop any car that dared attempt to drive through the area, and then would immediately rush back to the little boy, and nudge him toward the side of the road. But the little fellow, thinking the whole thing was just a game, would return to the center of the highway.
Jones spoke Soothingly to the St. Bernard, and managed to calm him down. But the dog would not like a single car move by until the little Randy was safely off the road.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This dog risked his own life to safe the little boy he loved and cared for. The dog went with the young boy as he walked away from home and protected him from the cars on a highway. This dog really is a hero.

There are more of these stories in the book. Maybe I will end up posting more of them on here.

Strange love

This blog is about a goose but not just a goose, no this blog is about a special goose.
You see, goose like to travel and live in groups but this girl is the only goose of her breed on the petting-zoo. At first she was kind of lonely and always walked alone. Maybe she was looking for a friend or maybe just for food but she was alone. She did not have a family.

However, this girl did end up finding a friend. A friend who nobody expected (at least I did not expect this goose to find a friend like this one) and I guess you, my dear reader, did also not expect to see these two together.

The friend who this goose found is not a goose, not a chicken or a duck, no animal with wings or feathers but an animal with hooves and horns. This girl found a friend in a goat.

If the goat walks away the goose will follow her. Whenever you see the goat, the goose is not far away. This is just a very cute couple, don't you all agree?

Weekly updates Gina

Since one of my guinea-pigs is most likely pregnant I decided to make a weekly update blog. I'm not sure if I will update this one with a new picture every week or if I make a new blog every week but for now I'm starting now.

This was Gina last week on the 12th of January
 And this was Gina today on the 19th of January, not alot of changes in her size, don't you agree?
See you next week!

We saw this snake last time we were at the zoo in Rotterdam. It is really real looking, don't you think?

Poor Vucko

Ever since I first read about the fate of the German Shephard named Vucko I have been sickened by how people could do this to a poor animal. Vucko obviously meant no harm, if he had those boys would not have been able to tape the firecracker in his mouth and set it off.
I haven't really followed up on what happened and if he got justice but last time I checked the petition was still online waiting to be signed so if you haven't signed the petition to find justice for this poor animal visit my previous blog where you will find the link to the petition CLICK

Eventhough I have not been following up on the progress of getting the boys who did this to this poor animal a proper punishment, that does not mean I am forgetting about the cruesome pictures I saw when reading into this. The pictures I used on my blog before, the video of the examination done by the vet and most of all I can not forget how horrible this dog's last days must have been. I can't imagine having to wonder around missing part of my body, unable to drink or eat, unable to defend myself, not having a warm place to sleep or a roof to find cover from the rain. This poor dog had no place to stay, no warm place to sleep and was unable to eat or drink for days while he wandered around in agonizing pain. He lost half of his face and the wound had become infected and maggots had covered the wound in those few days. Can you imagine having to wander around like that?
I know I am not the only one who is sickened by this, I know you care about Vucko too, enough to let your voice be heard? Please sign the petition!

Eventhough the post about Vucko is more then a month old, it still receives views every day. If everybody who views signs that petition we will be a step in the right direction!

Now, I have had some replies of people who I told this to that things like this happen everywhere and I know it is true but not everywhere this dog would have been left on the street to fend for himself. There are people who could be called and the dog would have been captured and brought to a vet straight away, at least that is how it is here. I know it is like that in other countries as well but not where Vucko was born.

Now, this blog is not finished without some pictures, you all know I love pictures and with a blog like this I just feel like they belong on this post so people can see what happened, so people know that I am not just saying something when I say his face was blown off but I want to start with something different. I want to start with YOU!!
Yes, you read that right! I want to start with you all and you know why? Every time I get on here to post something I look at my statistics, I am just curious to see where my blog is viewed (and still am amazed by the number of views from America and Russia. I often wonder how you all stumble onto my blog!) and every time I get surprised by how many people actually read my Vucko blog. I know alot may come for the pictures and alot my have dropped out of my rambling post by now but still, I hope the pictures have convinced everybody that something has to be done!

The number of people who viewed the blog about Vucko are remarkably high if you see the rest of the views from the other posts
Every search in the top 10 searches is about Vucko.

And now I warn you, the next pictures are extremely horrible, these are pictures I just found and (as far as I remember) have not used before. I find some of them even more shocking then the pictures of the last blog. For one time I will not end my rambling with enjoy but with the warning that if you have a wear stomach you might NOT want to watch this!
